Keyla started her chemo treatment 2 months ago and was due for surgery yesterday according to her cancer protocol. The operation went very well and she is now in intensive care. She is doing very well after one day of her operation.

Keyla is diagnosed with a cancer called “bilateral nephroblastoma”. The innocent one-year-old has her chance of a full recovery according to her medical team under the care of Dr Kevin Teeroovengadum at the Wellkin Clinic. In the past; we had taken care of 4 children (namely; Luna, Arnav and 2 anonymous children) with the same type of cancer and they are all in good health and are still being followed. The medical plan used for them paid off positively.

Based on our medical history, his treatment may cost around Rs1.2 million to Rs1.5 million for a period of 6 to 8 months including 2 surgeries and chemotherapy before and after his main surgery, intensive care and pediatric ward, psychological support and physio and regular tests.

Keyla’s case has been treated urgently, which is why the official costing has not yet been published. The NGO as usual will assume transparency on the costing as soon as we have received the official cost.
